1/2 Vocab

This week I have read from page 173-261 in the book, Quiet Strength, by Tony Dungy and Nathan Whitaker. In this section of the book, Tony reminisces on his head coaching days in Indianapolis. 

Pretentious (176): Characterized by assumption of dignity or importance, especially when exaggerated or undeserved.

Facetious (180): Not meant to be taken seriously or literally.

Baleful (183): Full of menacing or malign influences; pernicious.

Mulct (190): Tpunish (a person) by fine, especially for a misdemeanor.

Callow (197): Immature or inexperienced.

Overzealous (200): Full of, characterized by, or due to zeal; ardently active, devoted, or diligent.

Forlorn (201): Lonely and sad; forsaken.

Prattle (210): Ttalk in a foolish or simple-minded way; chatter; babble.

Guile (215): Insidious cunning in attaining a goal; crafty or artful deception; duplicity.

Quixotic (233): Impulsive and often rashly unpredictable.
